Chapter 2: The Tattoo That Silenced the Room

Part 2 ⬇️

The moment Brenda's hand grabbed her shoulder, Lexi moved.

Not in panic.

Not in fear.

She moved like someone who had done this a thousand times before.

In one smooth motion, she was on her feet.

Brenda's grip slipped.

And before anyone in that cafeteria could process what was happening, Brenda stumbled backward — her own weight working against her.

The room went dead silent.

Brenda caught herself against the edge of a table.

She stared at Lexi, breathing hard, her face shifting from shock to fury.

"You're going to regret that," Brenda said quietly.

"You have no idea who you're dealing with."

Lexi looked at her without blinking.

"Neither do you."

That was when one of the older inmates near the back made a sound — not a word, just a sharp breath — like she recognized something the others didn't.

A guard stepped forward.

But before she could speak, the woman at the back table said very quietly:

"Brenda.

Stop.

Just stop."

Brenda turned.

"What did you say to me?"

The woman didn't answer.

She was staring at the tattoo on Lexi's left forearm.

A small symbol.

Partially hidden.

But visible now.

Her face had gone completely pale.

"Where did you get that?" she whispered.

Lexi said nothing.

And that silence told the whole cafeteria that whatever secret Lexi was carrying — it was far bigger than anyone had imagined.

😶
