Chapter 1: The Girl Nobody Dared to Question

When a new inmate arrived at the women's prison, many people immediately noticed her.

The young woman looked unusual.

Her arms, neck, and part of her chest were covered with tattoos.

She barely spoke to anyone, rarely lifted her eyes, and always kept to herself.

Most inmates loved talking about newcomers, but this girl gave no one much to gossip about.

She calmly followed the guards' instructions, never caused trouble, and seemed completely uninterested in making friends.

Her name was Lexi.

There was one rule in that prison that every newcomer learned very quickly.

There was a woman whom almost everyone feared.

Her name was Brenda.

At the mere sight of her, many inmates lowered their eyes and tried to stay out of her way.

She was huge, extremely strong, and had spent years making other women's lives miserable.

Some inmates washed her clothes.

Others cleaned her cell.

Many gave her part of their food simply because they were afraid of what would happen if they refused.

Brenda loved humiliating people in front of everyone, and over time she had made sure the entire prison understood that arguing with her usually ended badly.

For several days, Lexi managed to stay out of her way.

Then one afternoon during lunch, everything changed.

The prison cafeteria was crowded.

Women sat at long metal tables, eating and quietly talking among themselves.

Lexi sat alone near the corner, calmly eating her meal.

That was when Brenda noticed her.

She watched Lexi for a few seconds from across the room, gave a small smirk, then slowly walked toward her table.

The conversations nearby started fading.

Several inmates stopped eating.

Everyone knew what usually happened when Brenda chose someone new to torment.

She stopped directly in front of Lexi and looked down at her tray.

"Give me your food."

Lexi slowly looked up.

"That's my meal.

Get your own."

Several women nearby immediately glanced at one another.

Nobody spoke to Brenda that way.

Brenda narrowed her eyes.

"I'm still hungry.

Give it to me.

You can survive without lunch."

Lexi didn't raise her voice.

"No."

The cafeteria became almost completely silent.

Brenda was used to people obeying her after the first warning, and the calm refusal seemed to anger her more than shouting ever could.

She grabbed Lexi's metal tray and violently pulled it toward herself.

The food crashed onto the floor.

Rice, vegetables, and meat scattered across the tiles.

Brenda looked down at Lexi with a satisfied smirk.

"Do you even know who I am?"

Lexi stayed seated.

"Get on your knees," Brenda said.

"You're going to learn some respect."

Lexi didn't move.

Brenda waited.

Still nothing.

That was when she finally lost her patience.

She grabbed Lexi by the shoulder and tried to pull her off the bench.

Several inmates turned their faces away because they were certain they already knew how this would end.

Brenda believed that within seconds the quiet tattooed newcomer would be on the floor begging her to stop.

She had no idea that she had just chosen the worst possible person to humiliate.

Because Lexi was not at all who everyone in that prison thought she was.

And within the next few seconds, the entire cafeteria was about to find out why she had never once seemed afraid of Brenda.

😱😮

Do you think Brenda had any idea what she just walked into?
