Chapter 1: She Knew She Couldn't Eat Shrimp
Sophie Knew Shrimp Could Hurt Her, But Vanessa Changed The Label And Forced The Fork Into Her Hand.
She knew she could not eat shrimp.
But at the engagement party, Vanessa pushed the plate toward her and pointed at the label.
"Safe."
Sophie shook her head, frightened.
"I can't eat shrimp…"
Vanessa smiled like a caring stepmother in front of the guests.
Then she pressed the fork into Sophie's hand.
"Eat it.
Don't embarrass me."
Sophie's fingers trembled.
She was about to take a bite when Adrian stepped in.
He saw the fear on his daughter's face.
He knocked the fork away and pulled Sophie behind him.
Then he asked for her emergency medicine.
It was missing.
Vanessa pretended not to know.
But the kitchen camera had recorded everything.
The label switch.
The medicine bottle.
The trash can.
The smug smile.
Vanessa called it an accident.
Adrian called it planned.
