Megan screamed so loud I had to hold the phone away from my ear.
"What IS this?
You think this is FUNNY?"
I stayed completely calm.
"I think it's exactly what you deserve, Megan."
She hung up.
Then called back two minutes later, voice shaking.
"You have NO idea who you're messing with.
I will make your life hell.
I'll tell the whole family what you did.
Nobody is going to take YOUR side."
I let her finish.
Then I said:
"Go ahead.
Tell them everything.
I'd love for them to hear it."
Silence.
See, what Megan didn't know was that I hadn't acted alone.
While she was busy praising her kids for destroying our car, my husband's cousin — who had been standing just outside that door — heard every single word she said to those children.
