Chapter 1: She Laughed When She Should Have Stayed Quiet

My SIL's kids smashed my brand-new car with a baseball bat — then I overheard that SHE HAD PUT THEM UP TO IT, so I made sure she regretted it.

My husband's sister, Megan, is incredibly jealous and entitled.

She often shows up at our house WITHOUT AN INVITATION, drops off her kids, who are 5 and 7, and asks me to watch them because, as she puts it, "You don't have kids, so it's not like you have anything else to do."

And I'm basically the only person in the family who occasionally tells Megan that the way she behaves isn't okay.

She hates me for that.

That became obvious when my husband and I finally bought a brand-new crossover.

Before that, we'd been going through a rough time.

We were paying off medical bills from my mom's cancer treatment, and our old car was practically falling apart, so we decided to start saving.

It took us three years.

Then one day, we decided to have a barbecue and invited the whole family over.

Megan immediately sent her kids off to play baseball away from everyone else so they wouldn't accidentally h*t anyone with the ball.

About ten minutes later, I heard what sounded like GLASS SHATTERING.

We all jumped up and ran toward the driveway, where the sound was coming from.

I nearly fainted.

My brand-new car had been SMASHED with the baseball bat.

The car had clearly been h*t MORE THAN ONCE.

One of the side mirrors was broken.

The windshield was cracked.

There was a huge dent in the door.

I turned straight to Megan and told her she was going to pay for the repairs.

She burst out laughing and said:

"THEY'RE JUST KIDS!

I'm NOT paying.

How is that my problem?"

I was in shock, but I wanted to finish the evening as calmly as possible.

So we stepped back inside.

That's when I overheard Megan whispering to her kids in another room.

She praised them because they'd done EXACTLY WHAT SHE'D TOLD THEM TO DO and said she'd buy them the toys they wanted as a reward.

That was it.

I'd HAD ENOUGH.

It was time for Megan to learn a lesson.

I called SOMEONE and asked them to deliver a BOX to Megan's house.

Oh, you should've heard her when she called me after OPENING THE BOX, screaming into the phone.

What was inside that box — and did Megan finally get what she deserved?
