My Son Found A Recorder In My Office—But The Three Words On My Wife's Envelope Were Even More Terrifying.
I came home early and found my wife standing over my children with a wooden hanger.
My eight-year-old son was shielding his little sister.
Then he told me Vanessa had locked Emma inside the laundry room before.
He had proof.
A small recorder captured Vanessa saying:
"Your father will believe me over both of you."
But that wasn't the only secret waiting for me.
My attorney called with another discovery.
Vanessa had been moving money from my children's trust.
Then Caleb noticed an envelope inside her purse.
I pulled it out.
There were only three words on the front:
"Transfer before Friday."
Vanessa immediately tried to grab it from me.
I stepped back.
"Transfer what?"
She said nothing.
Then I opened the envelope.
And what I found inside made me realize the @buse was only one part of her plan.
Because Vanessa wasn't preparing to take something from my children.
She was preparing to make sure they could never claim it.
