Chapter 1: The Pool He Built With His Own Hands

My neighbor filled my pool with concrete because my kids were "too loud while swimming" — so I had to teach her a lesson she'd remember forever.

The last thing my husband managed to finish before he passed was the pool in our backyard.

He built it himself because our four kids absolutely love swimming.

And once summer comes around, they're constantly splashing around in that pool.

One day, while my kids were swimming, our neighbor Katherine walked through the gate in my fence and straight into my backyard without asking.

I was in the kitchen when I heard someone yelling, so I immediately rushed straight to the backyard, where the shouting was coming from.

Katherine was standing right next to my pool, yelling at my kids.

I asked if something was wrong, and Katherine snapped:

"Your kids are TOO LOUD.

I want some peace and quiet."

I politely apologized just to avoid making a scene.

But I'd been in the kitchen and COULDN'T HEAR THEM AT ALL.

My kids know they're not allowed to scream.

Of course they splash around in the water, but they definitely weren't yelling.

For context, Katherine is one of those people who will find something to complain about no matter what.

At Christmas, she didn't like the little gnome decorations on my porch.

And recently, she told me I'd planted my roses on the wrong side of my yard and that they "belonged on the left, not the right."

She was constantly picking at me, even though I always treated all my neighbors with respect.

The next day, my kids went swimming again.

I swear, the backyard was quiet.

None of the kids were yelling.

They were just swimming peacefully.

But at five in the morning, I woke up to a loud noise.

I looked out the window and FROZE.

Katherine was standing next to my pool, and beside her was a concrete truck POURING CONCRETE INTO IT.

Her husband was driving the truck.

He owned a construction company.

I ran outside, and she immediately said:

"Now there'll finally be SOME PEACE AND QUIET!"

At that moment, I realized there was no point in arguing with her.

People like Katherine only understand one language.

So later that same evening, I HIRED SOMEONE and sent them over to Katherine's house.

A moment later, she was pounding on my door, screaming:

"No!

ANYTHING BUT THIS!

How dare you?"

What did she send to Katherine's house — and why did it break her completely?
