Chapter 1: The House That Was Never Mine

My husband and I have been married for nine years, and together we've built a beautiful home where we're raising our two children.

The only person who has never respected that is my mother-in-law.

Every time she visits, she steps through the front door as if she owns the place, constantly reminding everyone, "This is my son's house." She never says our house.

Never once.

At first, I ignored it because I didn't want to create tension in the family.

But over the years, it became more than just words.

She'd rearrange my furniture without asking, criticize the way I decorated, invite relatives over without telling me, and even tell my kids, "Grandma can do whatever she wants here because this is your daddy's house." My husband corrected her countless times, but she'd just laugh and repeat the same thing the next visit.

Last weekend, she came over again while several relatives were visiting.

Right in front of everyone, she glanced around the living room and proudly said, "I love seeing what my son has done with his house." I quietly replied, "It's our house." She rolled her eyes, smiled, and answered, "Sweetheart, let's be honest...

if he wanted you gone tomorrow, you'd be the one packing."

Something inside me finally snapped.

I looked straight at her and said, "YOU THINK THIS HOUSE BELONGS ONLY TO HIM?

FINE...

THEN HAVE IT YOUR WAY!"

At that exact moment, I already had a very cruel plan in mind.
