Marcus rewound the footage and pointed at the screen.
In the corner of the room, near the base of the nightstand, a tiny shape moved.

The little animal had been left behind when they checked out.

And I had lost my job, my income, and nearly my mind — because of a lie she set up on purpose.
Marcus looked at me.
"There's more.
When I dug deeper, I found out this isn't the first hotel she's done this to."
My hands started shaking.

What happened when the hotel saw that footage — and what did they find in her past?
