Chapter 2: The Look on Her Face Was Not Surprise

Part 2 ⬇️

Inside the box was a thick envelope.

Jordan's hands were shaking as he pulled it out.

Percy leaned in close, and the moment she saw what was inside, her face went completely white.

Photos.

Dozens of them.

Clark looked at Jordan calmly and said:

"I'm not just an actor.

I'm a private investigator.

Your wife hired me three weeks ago."

Jordan's mouth opened but nothing came out.

Clark kept going.

"The agency you've been funneling money through for the past eight months?

The joint account you told her was closed?

It's all in there.

Every transfer.

Every date.

Every signature."

Percy took one step back.

Then another.

Jordan grabbed my arm and hissed:

"You had no right—"

Clark stepped between us without raising his voice.

"She had every right.

She's the mother of your four children.

And she's been paying your debts while you spent that money on someone else."

The kids were still in the pool.

My son hadn't seen any of it yet.

But my mother-in-law had.

She was standing at the edge of the patio, holding a glass of lemonade, completely still.

And the look on her face wasn't shock.

It was guilt.

Like she already knew.
