I wanted to impress my ex, who showed up at our son's birthday party with his mistress, so I hired an actor to pretend to be my boyfriend — he laughed until my fake partner taught him a lesson.

Jordan and I had been together for 20 years, and I believed we had a happy marriage.

When I first saw him, I could barely speak.

He was tall and handsome.

I was ready to call the whole thing off, but Clark said:

"Don't you want him to see how happy you are without him?"

So I went through with it, and we arrived together.

I was standing beside Clark when Jordan and Percy walked over to greet us.

Jordan burst out laughing and said:

"that's your boyfriend?

Have you even looked at yourself in the mirror?

There's no way he'd actually be with you."

I wanted the ground to swallow me whole.

Then Clark smiled at Jordan, handed him a gift box, and said he had something for the birthday boy's dad, too.

Jordan opened the box and went pale as a ghost.

He screamed so loudly that everyone turned around to see what was inside.

And I just kept grinning so widely that my smile could probably be seen from space.
