The room went completely still.
Mrs.
Vance opened her mouth, then closed it again.
For the first time, no words came out.
The principal's voice was calm and quiet — which somehow made it worse.
"My office.
Now."
"This is a misunderstanding," she finally managed, her voice cracking at the edges.
"The boy was clearly—"
"His name," the principal said, "is Marcus."
A few students exchanged glances.
Someone near the back whispered something.
Nobody laughed.
Marcus hadn't moved from his seat.
He sat with both hands flat on his desk, the graded exam still sitting in front of him.
Perfect score.
His name at the top.
The security officer stepped aside to let Mrs.
Vance pass.
She walked toward the door without looking at a single student.
But just before she reached the hallway, the girl in the blue sweater spoke up.
"This wasn't the first time," she said clearly.
"I have the others too."
Mrs.
Vance stopped walking.
The principal turned slowly toward the girl.
"What did you say?"
She held up her phone.
Not one photo.
A folder.
Dated screenshots going back months — each one showing a different student, a different humiliation, the same cruel pattern.
The color didn't just drain from Mrs.
Vance's face this time.
Her hands started to shake.
