Chapter 1: She Called Her a Monster
"She's not my new mommy.
She's a monster." π°
My 4-year-old said it at the dinner table.
Pointing straight at my wife.
Everyone laughed it off.
I nearly did too.
Then I checked the security footage.
Vanessa led my daughter into the laundry room.
Closed the door.
Left her there for almost an hour.
And the audio caught one sentence I'll never forget.

I told her to get out.
But before she could leave, Emma tugged my sleeve.
"Daddyβ¦
there's another camera." Hidden between her stuffed animals.
A tiny black lens.
I never installed it.

Then the detective said: "This camera wasn't installed three weeks ago.
It's been here eleven months." Vanessa hadn't even met me eleven months ago.
Someone had been watching my daughter long before my new wife walked through the door.
And the memory card didn't just show our houseβ¦
It showed another family.
Another little girl.
