Detective Collins gave me a single nod.
"She's fine," I said.
"They're still running tests."
A pause on the line.

She was right.
His first question hadn't been *is she okay.*

Then my phone buzzed with a text.
Unknown number.

Lily had received it.
On her smartwatch.
Someone had sent that message to my daughter while she lay in a hospital bed.

What Daniel found on that watch — and who sent that message — changes everything.
