Chapter 2: The Name on the Screen

⬇️ **PART 2** ⬇️

For a long moment, Julian just stood there on that pavement, staring.

His security team hovered nearby.

His driver.

His assistant.

All of them watching their boss fall apart in the middle of Heathrow.

"Clara." His voice cracked.

"Tell me these aren't—"

"Their names are Lily, Rose, and June," I said quietly.

"They are four years old.

And yes, Julian.

You already know."

The youngest, June, tugged at my coat and looked up at him with wide curious eyes.

He flinched like she'd struck him.

"You never told me." His voice dropped to something raw.

"You never said a word."

"I tried." I held his gaze and didn't blink.

"Three times.

Your lawyers sent back a cease and desist each time."

That landed.

I watched it move through him like a tremor.

His jaw tightened.

"I didn't know about any letters—"

"I know you didn't."

Something shifted in his expression.

A terrible, dawning realization.

"Then who—"

His phone buzzed in his jacket pocket.

He glanced down.

And went completely still.

The name on the screen was someone he trusted completely.

Someone who had been by his side for over a decade.

Someone who had been the first to show him those encrypted messages four years ago.

What Julian found when he answered that call didn't just shake him.

It destroyed everything he thought he knew.
