She came down those stairs like a woman going to war — heels sharp against the marble, jaw locked, eyes fixed on me like I was something she intended to remove.
"You have no right to be here," she said, low enough that only I could hear.
"Take those children and leave before I have you escorted off this property."
I didn't move.
"Those children," I said calmly, "have every right to be here.
More right than anyone else on these grounds."
Liam reached up and took my hand.
Noah and Caleb stood close behind me, quiet, watching her with those gray eyes — Ethan's eyes — without blinking.
Eleanor's face went the color of ash.
Then a voice cut through the silence from across the garden.
"What is going on out here?"
