Janet's hands were steady.
Patty's were not.
The second document was a care facility intake form.
Patty's name was at the top.
Someone had filled in her address, her date of birth, her medical history.
The admission date was set for two weeks from now.
"Where did this come from?" Patty whispered.
"It was faxed to us by mistake," Janet said.
"It was meant for a legal office.
A firm that handles conservatorships."
Patty didn't know that word.
Janet explained it quietly.
A conservatorship would give Trent legal control over her finances, her property, and her daily decisions.
The argument would be that she was no longer capable of managing her own affairs.
"They were going to claim I was incompetent."

I've been trying to warn you for months.

Patty stared at the name.
