Chapter 2: The Clasp That Gave Everything Away

**— PART 2 —**

Three minutes after I ended the call, the ballroom doors opened.

Not with a bang.

Not with a scene.

Just quietly.

Deliberately.

Two men in dark suits stepped inside and spoke to no one.

They simply stood at each entrance and waited.

Then the head of venue security walked directly to Chloe's new husband and said four words.

"Sir, a word.

Now."

Chloe grabbed his arm.

"What is this?

Who called you?"

The security manager didn't look at her.

He looked at me.

Then he gave a small nod.

Chloe turned slowly.

Her smile was already gone.

"What did you do?"

I said nothing.

Eleanor stepped forward.

"This woman is a thief.

We want her removed and arrested."

"Ma'am." The manager's voice was calm.

"We've reviewed the camera footage from the last forty minutes."

The room went very still.

"The ring did not leave this ballroom on that woman."

He paused.

"But it did leave one table."

Every head turned.

Amanda hadn't moved from her spot near the flowers.

But her face had gone the color of ash.

Her hand tightened around that small silver purse.

And that was the moment Chloe's new husband said something that made Chloe's knees visibly weaken.

"Amanda…
