Vincent didn't move.
He didn't speak.
He just stood there staring at that cracked little phone in an eight-year-old's hands like it was the only real thing left in the room.
Then he turned to Charles.
Slowly.
"Play it again."
Charles stepped forward.
"Vincent, I strongly advise—"
"Play.
It.
Again."
Emily pressed Play a second time.
Sofia's voice filled the ballroom.
"Vince, if Bellamy is in the room, don't say another word.
He's the one who arranged it.
The papers you're about to sign aren't an engagement agreement.
They transfer the trust.
All of it.
I found out the night I disappeared.
I tried to reach you.
I couldn't.
If you're hearing this, it means Grace kept the phone.
It means she was braver than I had any right to ask her to be."
The recording crackled.
Then Sofia's voice dropped to almost nothing.
"The pendant, Vince.
Look at the pendant."
Isabella's hand pressed flat against her chest.
Grace made a sound she immediately swallowed.
And Dominic, who had not moved in three full minutes, finally looked at his cousin.
Vincent's eyes were already on Isabella's necklace.
Two silver leaves.
A blue stone.
He had given that pendant to Sofia on their tenth anniversary.
"Where did you get that?" he said quietly.
Isabella's face didn't change.
But her eyes did.
