Chapter 2: Three Words That Changed Everything

The doors swung open.

Two men in suits walked in — not guests.

Not staff.

They carried a sealed envelope and stopped directly behind the bridesmaid.

The rich woman took one step back.

"What is this?" she demanded.

But her voice had lost its edge.

The bridesmaid didn't answer her.

She turned to the groom instead.

"Did you know?" she asked quietly.

"Or did they keep you in the dark too?"

He opened his mouth.

Nothing came out.

The father moved first — reached for his phone — but one of the men in suits shook his head slowly.

"Don't."

One word.

That was all it took.

The father's hand dropped.

The bridesmaid took the envelope.

Held it up so the entire room could see it.

"My mother wore this veil twenty-three years ago," she said.

"The night your family took everything from her."

A gasp moved through the guests like a wave.

The rich woman's face went white.

"That's…

that's not possible.

She's—"

"Gone?" The bridesmaid's voice didn't waver.

"Yes.

She is.

And you made sure of that."

The groom grabbed the back of a chair.

The music had long since stopped.

And in the silence, a phone on the head table lit up with a single message — visible to everyone standing close enough to read it.

Three words.

*It's already done.*

---

What did those three words just set in motion — and what did this family do to her mother?

The full truth is darker than anyone in that room expected.
