Chapter 2: # CHAPTER 2: The Camera Nobody Was Supposed to Find

Mason arrived within three minutes.
He listened without a word.
Then he looked at Emma.
"Can you show me where?"
Emma nodded.
Lorenzo reached for his coat.
Mason stopped him.
"You don't go."
"She's my wife."
"Which is exactly why you stay here."
Lorenzo's jaw tightened.
"You work for me."
"And right now I'm doing my job." Mason's voice stayed level.

"And?"
Another pause.
Longer this time.
"Lorenzo.
There's a camera hidden inside a utility box.
Pointed directly at the warehouse entrance.
Someone installed it recently."
The cold feeling returned to his chest.
"Who?"
"That's what worries me."
Because if Lorenzo's people hadn't put it there — someone else had been watching that warehouse long before Emma ever walked past it.
---
What that camera recorded will change everything Lorenzo thought he knew.
