Chapter 2: What Elena Found in the Bag

Part 2 ⬇️
The room went still.
Bianca stared at the clippers on the floor, then slowly looked up at Alessandro.
Not with shame.
With a smile.
"The wedding is over?" she repeated softly.
"Darling, I am the wedding.
Without my family's money, there is no venue, no guests, no ring.
Nothing."
Alessandro's jaw tightened.
"Get out of this room."
"I'll leave when I'm ready." Bianca smoothed her dress calmly.
"And Livia will fix her hair before anyone sees her.
We can't have the bride's little sister looking like that in the photos."
Rosalie pulled Livia closer.
The girl was shaking, clutching a fistful of her own fallen hair.
Then the door opened.
An older woman stepped in — Alessandro's mother, Elena.
She took one look at Livia, at the hair on the floor, at Bianca standing there with that smile still on her face.
Elena didn't raise her voice.
She walked to the vanity, picked up something small, and held it out toward Alessandro.
It was a photograph.
Old.
Folded at the corners.
"Before this wedding goes one minute further," Elena said quietly, "you need to see what I found in her bag this morning."
Alessandro's face changed.
