Chapter 2: Five Black Cars and a Name Nobody Was Supposed to Know
Dominic walked in first.
He didn't raise his voice.
He didn't need to.
He simply looked around the ballroom, found Adrian, and said,
"We need to talk.
All of you."
Adrian straightened.
"This is a private event."
"It was," Dominic said.
Gabriel was already opening a leather folder.
Luca stood near the door.
Matteo and Nico positioned themselves quietly on either side of the room.
No threats.
No shouting.
Just five men who knew exactly why they were there.
Richard stepped forward.
"I don't know what Elena has told you, but—"
"She didn't tell us much," Gabriel said.
"She didn't have to."
He placed a single document on the nearest table.
Richard's face changed.
Adrian moved closer to look.
Then he stopped.
Margaret gripped her champagne glass.
Vanessa took a small step backward.
The document had Richard Cole's signature on it.
And a second name — one that no one in that room was supposed to know.
Adrian turned to his father.
"What is this?"
Richard said nothing.
"Dad." Adrian's voice cracked.
"What is this?"
Luca spoke quietly from near the door.
"That's what we'd like to know too."
The room was completely still.
And then Vanessa's phone lit up on the table beside her.
Everyone saw the name on the screen.
Including Adrian.
