Arthur went completely still.
The color drained from his face.
His hand gripped the edge of the counter.
"What did you say?" he whispered.
"Sarah Harrison," Leo repeated.
"She said if anything ever happened to her, I had to find you."
Arthur crouched down slowly until he was eye level with the boy.
His voice was barely steady.
"Son…
where is your mother right now?"
Leo looked down at his shoes.
"She's at the hospital.
She told me not to call anyone.
Just find Mr.
Harrison." He paused.
"She said you'd know what to do."
Frank let out a short, impatient laugh from behind the counter.
"Old man, you don't even know this kid.
Don't let him play you."
Arthur stood up and turned to Frank with a look that made the man step back.
"Not another word."
Claire had stopped moving entirely.
She stood frozen near the coffee machine, watching Arthur's face — because she had worked for the Harrison family for eleven years.
And she knew that name.
She knew exactly who Sarah Harrison was.
What she didn't understand was why Arthur had told everyone she d*ed fifteen years ago.
Arthur knelt beside Leo again and asked quietly: "Did your mother send anything with you?
A letter?
Anything at all?"
Leo reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a small sealed envelope.
Arthur's hands were trembling as he reached for it.
