Chapter 2: What Was Inside the Box
Inside the box was a printed copy of the hotel's breastfeeding policy — and a photo.
A photo of HER.
Taken by the hotel's poolside camera.
Her face clearly visible, her finger pointed directly at me.
The manager didn't raise his voice.
He simply said:
"Ma'am, what you did was recorded.
You harassed a nursing mother and a grieving widow with two young children.
This hotel has a zero-tolerance policy.
I'm going to have to ask you to leave — permanently.
Your membership has been cancelled."
Her friends went completely silent.
Aaron grabbed my hand.
He looked up at me with those big eyes and whispered:
"Mom…
did he just stand up for us?"
I couldn't speak.
My throat was tight.
But then one of the woman's friends — the one who had laughed the loudest — stepped forward.
She looked nervous.
She looked like she wanted to say something.
And what she said next made my heart stop.
